Share some love and a piece of cake......

Its the second week for the current Try it on Tuesdays challenge
to Add a Quote.

I have had a bit of a play again  making the hybrid page
you can see  at the start of the post.

The actual colours  are seen  on the left and below is the page that is hand made in my journal.

I   did start off  thinking to make  a card, fussy cutting flowers etc, but when it was all stuck down. I thought the quote was quite meaningful  me me and my family.

Here it is in all its inkiness  with splodges of colour,
I have it propped up on a shelf in my craft room.
An idea I got from Jo at Lets Art Journal  after reading one of her posts.

So now I am sharing some love and  a restoring cuppa with friends  at.....

Bleubeard and Elizabeth's

were we are always made very  welcome, to share a drinks related post.

Friday was a stay home day, and I think we both ate too much.,but we knew we needed to relax before heading off to meet with friends and family.
You will have to take my word for it, this carrot cake with butter frosting and walnuts was delicious.
You know I would share it with you if I could.

It was a  busy weekend and an unexpected stay in the north of Northumberland in the caravan with our sons at a Landrover event. It was freezing cold at night,
so pleased the caravan has a good heating system

I have lots of photos of the area, but as yet they are still to be sorted out
This one is the ruins of Etal Castle which was about 4 miles from where we stayed.

Happy T day everyone
and thank you for calling in to see me today

  6. Oh wow, what a gorgeous journal entry. I'm impressed with the layers and the fussy cut flowers. So good that Jo was an inspiration because this is a very inspirational page (and quote) that you can look at every day. It is actually frame worthy.

You made my very favorite cake. How did you know? Just in time for my bEARTHday, too. Every year, my grandmother made me a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. She often added the walnuts, too. I'll have coffee, instead of tea, but I would gladly drink it in a beautiful springtime mug like yours.

I really look forward to seeing more photos of the castle ruins and the road rally, too.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful art, your castle ruin, and your carrot cake and tea with us for T this Tuesday. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, too.

  10. Both pieces are really gorgeous Yvonne - love the vintage feel and imagery of the first and love the pretty colours and inkiness of the second one and the lovely words.
Thank goodness your caravan has some heating - been a funny month what with the mini heatwave earlier in month (assuming you had that too?) and now a bit cooler, especially at night and more breezier too.. typical British weather I guess ha ha..
Hope all well with you... Gill xx

It takes a lot of time to go through photos.
I always enjoy travel photos whether they are mine or others!
Your carrot cake looks scrumptious and such a pretty mug too(we had that for our wedding cake long ago).
Your collage is wonderful in the colors you selected.
The silhouette works brilliantly and Love certainly is a verb = great quote too.

  27. I absolutely love your page in both its guises. The autumnal hybrid version with those fabulous textured silhouettes is so powerful - really moving -and the vivid colours of the summery one are lovely. Very generous of you to offer to share the cake... knowing it's an impossibility! I don't blame you - there's no sharing of carrot cake round my way.
