A dream for tomorrow.

This week over at Try it on Tuesdays we have another Alter it challenge and we would like you to show us  some ' Mosaic' on your piece. Please pop over to TioT's for all the details and see what we have been making. We are  sponsered by the Craft Barn with a voucher up for grabs..
Once again I have made a hanging, my friends seem to like them as a change to a Birthday Card, so I wonder where this one will find a home.

The bottom layer  is an off cut from picture frame cutting and makes a firm base.
For the blue layer I swiped the distress ink pad over the paper, I thought it looked a bit like marble close up.
Colours used Antique Linen and Stormy Sky.The mosaic tiles I think were a piece of left over Crowed Attic Paper, these I dabbed over with distress stickles.

All the stamps used are from Studio 490.
When I'd stamped the heart I gave it 3 coats of clear embossing powder, let it dry, then deliberately cracked the surface.

The little bird is an Alterations die cut.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Mardi Gras

Well, for  this card, I did  not reach out for any stamps. Its good to try something different for a change.
When I read that the  Rainbow Ladys new challenge  No192 was Mardi Gras, I reached for my new Debbie Moore Stamping magazine and used some of the papers  etc that came with it.
The gold miri  was embossed then rubbed over with sandpaper to age it a little.
I used vintage photo distress inks to tone the colours down and added some pearls, gems, glitter and feathers.
Also used was some distress embossing power at the edges of the shaped layer.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Sitting Pretty

When I read that the new challenge for February  over at Happy Daze was  Love,- 'A technique you love to use'. I didn't realise how difficult it would be to focus on one thing. So forgive me for letting a few favourites creep into this piece.

The first Stamping--stamps used Stampotique and  Studio 490.
Then came grunge ,- paint, distress and generally getting inky- I used a selection of inks and sprays for the clock dial.. The pocket watch is an Art Parts shape.
Last, the collage -with a quick trawl over the desk at the bits and bobs that might be useful, adding a couple of metal embellishments.

It is a dull winters day here in the U.K , so the photos were a problem, not as sharp as I would have liked.

The Stampman Challenge this time is 'Embellish It. So I will enter my Pocket watch here as well.

Thankyou for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.

Here  are the front [on the right ] and back  [on the left] of the page I made for  'February'. The  Fat Page  swap that I am doing with a friend who doesn't blog.
Collaged with  bits and bobs and elements from a variety of sources.
It is a stamped background.
