Coffee and Cream-GC88

The new colour challenge over at Gingersnap Creations is to use Coffee and Cream.
For this piece , I decided not to reach out for a rubber stamp.
All the papers I used were in my stash. You know what I mean, those odds and ends we cannot bear to throw away, that might be useful one day.  One layer went through the big shot in an embossing folder and I did use some teabag distress inks. The little girl picture was a freebe  from a magazine, then it just called out for a bit of lace and a flower to finish off. I think this will end up as a card.
Thankyou for stopping by to take a peep.

Love is.....

While blog hopping recently and in dispair with my old blog, I found leads to many super challenges. So with a couple of themes in mind, this is the card I made.
An old favourite Paperbag stamp is the main image, with teabag distress ink to shade the edges. A play with the Spellbinders  to get a couple of layers, not forgetting Martha Stewart for the edging and the dip into my bits and pieces to finish it off.

Yipee

Thought I would share my latest news, and great excitement.
Just been visiting Gingersnap creations, to find I have been been lucky to receive my third  Gingergem award. for this ATC made for the colour challenge GC84.  Snow, pine and mahogony, which ended today.
[the original post is on my old blog].

Altered door hanger.

The new challenge for this week over at Try it on Tuesdays is to alter something that when finished must have some wings on it. There are some super examples please go take a look.
Once again this week our sponser is the Craft Barn  http://www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/ and a voucher will wend its way to the lucky winner of the draw next week.
So, now to descibe to you my piece, which started life as a grubby door hanger. After sanding down,  I  stained it with distressed inks, tea dye and walnut stain. I stamped the background with a variety of stamps. The winged lady is cut from a sheet of Graphic45 paper, the embellishments are from my stash.

Hello-Welcome to my new home.

Sadly my old blog Meggymaysway decided to go walkabout big style. So, I have taken the less stressful easier option and opened this  new blog. It will take some time for me to get round to pretty this one up, as changing backgrounds etc lost me my old blog. I have transfered a few pictures from my recent posts, for you to see the sort of things I like to create.
Thankyou you for stopping by,  your friendships mean  a lot to me.

Sunday 23 January 2011

One of my  most  exciting suprises recently,  was being asked if I would like to become part of the Design team. for Try It On Tuesdays.  [Tuesday Taggers].  There was no doubt in my immediate answer of 'yes please' to join this amazing team of talented crafters.  So I include now a couple of my latest  DT pieces.

I have enjoyed taking part in the Compendium of Curiosities [Tin Holtz] Challenge over at StudioL3 for about 24 weeks now. These are some of my favourite ones.
Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas, my versions of his latest challenge.
Book of Tags, made for the January Art 'n' Soul swap. Each tag had to include a button and both sides to be decorated.

This card got me a second Gingergem award in November, the theme of Vintage hues GC80

This Altered Matchbox was a winner over at Lets Ink It Up in November, it was made as a swap for the Art n Soul challenge and is now in rehomed in Sweden

I was lucky to win the Cards for Men Challenge at the Stampman Challenge blog with this card , back in October
